Sotaman (Trent). But he had them with other military people and called them Wingnites before he started the one at the Eagan Old Chicago with other forum members. Maybe the first was at a wing joint in Minot?

Yes, it was started by Sotaman. But the true story behind our wingnight: He was home on leave from Afghanistan and being a BWCA.com member, he wanted to meet up with fellow members. He said the forum is what kept him going while over there. Anyway he wanted to meet up at Old Chicago in Eagan for "Wings". So was the start of wingnight. I was at the very first one along with Jan and Merganser to name a few.

Everyone is pretty close. I had separated from Active Duty and joined the reserve unit in the cities. I organized wing night in conjunction with a drill weekend. But I had a fun fishing community in North Dakota that would have wing nights all the time. It was often very in formal like hey I'm rolling into town in a couple of weeks if anyone wants to meet up those available would come out. So in spirit I had to go to a drill weekend and thought it would be awesome to meet folks I had chatted with well I was deployed to Iraq.
