For the park you need a nightly camping permit.
I think they are available online now, but contact

I see where they now indicate there is parking at Sassenach Lake....I don't see any obvious spot on Google maps, but maybe someone has coordinates???

Where did you find that James? I looked on the Ontario Parks website but couldn't find anything. There is a turnout near Virginia lake, but a friend of mine checked out going into Virginia and Valley (a bit further north) and found nothing in terms of viable portages. One would have to re-cut them to get through to the lake.

HnD - I clicked on the website you linked to.
I chose Wabakimi as my park and then saw 4 entry points on the map.
The entry point labels have little cars associated with them.
The map legend says that indicates drive in access.
So I am guessing there is a parking area for those entry points.
We know about the Smye parking.
There is a spot to park at the Little Caribou bridge. I have been there.
There is definitely road access to Obonga Lake with several possible parking areas.
So that leaves Sassenach.
Google maps (satellite view) shows a "road" coming around the north end of Valley and ending at the very NE point of Sassenach Lake. (50.482015, -90.209296)
But that road could be pretty iffy I would think.
I remember Ken was up that way a couple years back, but I don't think he went around Valley Lake and then back south toward Sassenach.
I sent Shannon Lawr a note asking for any info he can provide.

I see it now. Thanks! I drove about 5 miles north of the turn off for parking for Smye Lake. I found a small dirt turnout for 2 cars maximum near a creek. That creek runs to Virginia, I think. Let's wait and see what Shannon says. The Smye turnoff is at km 41 if I remember correctly. Hopefully he can give us a similar km marker to help narrow it down.
