Can anyone identify this paw print? West central Wisconsin about a foot from my house

Looks far too small to be coyote. I don't believe there's any reliable way to tell a wolf from a large dog from a single print. If there are more tracks visible outside, wolves tend to walk in a straighter line, and tend to have their front and back prints aligned, whereas dogs tend to wander around more.

On a serious note,
To small to be a coyote.......
If that's a yote...
I'm getting out of the woods.

For sure some type of large canine. Wolf, large dog, no way to know for sure.

Just make up a good story to tell at the bar and we'll back you up on it.

Coyote tracks are about 2" across. A wolf would be close to 5" across. This appears to be between 2" and 5", so I think it's a large dog.

larger dog, wolf are larger and more spacing between parts.
