with this colder weather i'm getting out this weekend to do some pan fishing , dont target them very often but love pannies with the skin on, whats the best one out there ? haven't scaled a fish forever.

I also like to leave the skin on with panfish. No need to over think this one. Any like the one that is pictured will work just fine. A week later you will find scales everywhere.

I have a tumble drum from cabellas, if you fish enough for perch and gills it’s worth the money. Simple to useno mess all the scales stay in one place.

Best scaling method is a clamp board to hold the sunny and then a large kitchen spoon to remove the scales.
The configuration of the spoon allows you reach those hard-to-get-to spots.
Clamp the tail - not the head - and start removing scales at the head end.
