Anyone have any experience with these? I found a used one (16ft) and I'm wondering if it would be totally useless for tandom BWCA trips. It looks like it was designed more for rivers than lakes, but does that mean it'll be too unstable to fish from, too hard to paddle, etc? Will it hold enough gear for two people and 5 days?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Are you sure it is not a 16' Heron?

If you like carrying 69 lbs. Its a hunting and fishing boat. Short and fat and designed to carry a load.
It would not be my first choice at all for the BWCA
However my first BWCA trip was with a 69 lb fifteen foot bathtub that was noisy and named Grumman.

Wow, ok. so apparently they make a Heron and a Huron, sorry for the confusion...

I'm looking at the Huron 16: http://www.esquif.com/aventure/huron-16/

oops.

Scaled down Prospector.. It has a lot of rocker. If your strokes are spot on you can travel with it without yaw on lakes. If not quite to that level it could be frustrating for you.

Its a river boat. Sure it can be used in the BWCA but is it going to be fun for you? Only you can answer this..
