Hi All! I have a group of 5 staying at my Aunt's house on Fall Lake. I am bringing a small 14FT boat with a 20HP motor. We are also bringing a few canoes. Any ideas on good local fishing lakes? Not species specific but walleye is always nice! We could go to non motor lakes or lakes with motor use doesn't matter because we have both. We are planning only day trips and staying in town the whole week. Heading up the last week of June. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

You are staying at a pretty darn good lake. Do well there for Walleye and Smallmouth. There are some big smallmouth in Fall. Another day trip I would recommend is Tofte for Rainbow trout . Pretty easy to catch them there. I would also hit Snowbank for a day. There are just so many choices to pick from up there.

I'll be staying at the campground for a couple weeks that time. Fish ely lakes every year. Plan on fishing Tofte for the 1st time this year..sort of change of pace for a day.
Above and around Newton falls is good. Below also.
Fish the bwca. Part of Fall less people.
You need a permit to do that.

Go up Echo trail and fish Big lake good eyes...

Also try low lake. Bumpy drive.
Might even try Triangle. Use roller postage from Ojibway. Neat experience....
I plan on Snowbank for the 1st time. Pick your day could get rough.

P.S. I have never done worth a poop at the hydro plant.. lots of pressure there....

Pretty funny.... A guy who spent 28 years in prison saying poop and not s***.

But this is a family site..

If you head up the Echo Trail also consider Ed Shave and Big Lake. Both lakes have boat ramps. Shagawa and Little Long Lake can also produce some nice Walleyes as well.
