It is getting harder to wait for my yearly trip. I am currently residing a house on the shore of Lake Petenwell in central Wisconsin. Today was very calm, almost glass like. While I was on the roof working on a chimney chase I heard a loon call from somewhere out on the water. We got a foot of snow last week and we are supposed to get more this weekend.

Sigh.

Unas10- we must be almost neighbors- we live just east of Necedah. My husband went fishing today at Buckhorn bridge, and caught quite a few walleye, only one keeper though. Also caught several bluegill. Can't wait to get the canoe out, although based on the forecast it will not be this weekend. It would be great to meet someone from the area, and maybe go for a paddle after winter temps are gone.

You’re not helping even if here in California we are starting sailing season. I did row a bit last weekend. Really ready for summer and a couple of trips. Yes, might get in two this year. One with young great nephews and one with friends who are great trippers.

I work for a company out of Wisconsin Rapids and live a little bit to the west. The house we are currently working on is a vacation home for a cranberry grower from Warrens. We have yet to uncover all the hidden $urpri$e$ of this type of project and he is into the job for over 120K.

I am meeting my outdoor fix with winter adventures instead, as I wait... and wait.

I was almost to the point of dragging my mattress on to my deck, but last weekend spent entire day outside, cooking and hiking and having a huge fire. It was not a BWCA trip, but it did assuage the immediate need. And my mattress is still inside, lol.

Loons are back as far as the MN Metro area and staging on a local pond with a fountain/aerator. Still waiting to hear their calls though...
