Does anyone know where I might be able to find a fairly lightweight campfire griddle that doesn't have Teflon on it?

The Little Griddle brand has cast aluminum cookware/griddles that have a ceramic based nonstick coating and are PTFE (teflon) free. They have other options too, but this one seems like it would be great right on top of the USFS grates, if not just propped up over coals. Griddle

Piragis does have a plain cast aluminum 10 x 13 campfire griddle. Their listing does not have the weight.

Very highly recommended."

these are very quality grills but lousy for making pancakes!

Lynn, when i was still in outfitting we looked high and low for a griddle w/o coating. ended up using cast iron griddles (flat on one side, grill on reverse). what a nightmare. too much clean up, people wouldn't clean them before returning, some even came back warped! not sure how this could happen. they were fine for basecamping, but not great when moving camp doing lots of portages. on our personal trips we'd try using the aluminum plates to make grilled cheese... great sandwich, icky plate after.

nordic wear used to have such great quality camp cooking gear, i suppose it's easier to make a lesser quality product now, so the price is cheaper and more are sold.

That one Stu uses is made in cook of all places. Mocha, if you can't make pancakes on the Purcell your making your batter too thin. Haha. They make a cast aluminum fit h oven, a cast aluminum pan would be nice...

I'd recommend this one https://mcdonaldpaper.com/old-mountain-10147-om-10-5-inch-cast-iron-pre-seasoned-round-griddle , it's already seasoned. On the site there's a wide range of pans, take a look.
