So I just got back from 4 days on the Suwannee River in Florida. Great trip. Bought a wood stove in the hopes of taking to Quetico this year to save weight. We were failures at using this. Took forever to boil water. Seemed like fire was not getting enough air or we were constantly having to add twigs. Any tricks to using a wood stove. Are others getting good success? Thanks
So many variables! I have excellent results with mine. However! I use mine just for boiling water on solo trips. It is great for boiling one liter of water. I can cook one pack of oatmeal and one cup of instant coffee or rehydrate one serving of an entree. It would not be so effective for group trips. For groups, IMHO, a campfire or fuel stove would be better.
