So I switched 2 of my poles from the original green stealth SpiderWire to the white Invisibraid. It is supposed to be almost invisible in the water and should help with walleye in the Q. I was just wondering if anyone has used it and what they thought about it.
I know a lot of people use a mono leader and I have never messed with it and still caught about the same number of fish beside other canoes using the leader. Using this, I am hoping it helps my catch rate a little.
I am using 15lb test which is at a much smaller diameter.008 think.

Just curious on peoples experiences/thoughts.

I cant get past not having a leader but I fished with a guy who used straight fire line, which is sort of white, to a really light wire leader (Knot2Kinky) and he did just fine so the whole leader thing might be overblown.

In my mind, what it comes down to is not wether straight braid will catch lots of fish, but will it fool the bigger fish. Or will they turn away at the last moment not liking what they see. Admittedly ignorance is bliss (I would of never known they turned away) but I would always be wondering.

I am not really up to speed on the Pro walleye circuit but my guess is none of them fish straight braid unless it was a specialty situation. I could be wrong, but that would be my guess. When straight braid starts winning tournaments on clear or even dark water then sign me up, it sure would make life a bit simpler.

After having fished the great lakes since the mid 80's and BW since 94, braid is really really unnecessary. We use to use Fireline when we first started up there which durability wise is great but its just not needed and its pricey. We now use Trik Fish Camo Line, can only order it online. Its a perlon, copolymer, super tough in rivers, can feel the lightest bite and it literally is hard to see in the water. We use #4 for trout, #6 or 8 for walleyes and #12 for pike. I wont use anything else till they stop making this. (Fingers crossed that never happens)
