Congratulations Canoe 42,

I retired form wildland firefighting last October after 28 years, I didn't realize how streessful firefighting was, now it feels like a big weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

Have fun on the next chapter and thank you for your service.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.
