Anyone have any idea how i get the seat out of a northwind solo, the tumblehome dosnt allow for it to come up and out and it cant be turned in the canoe enough to extract?

Would removing the thwart so you can flex the hull help?

Looks like they've changed the seat brackets. Mine hung by two wooden drops held in place by long bolts through the gunwale, down the length of the drops and through the seat stems. I had no trouble getting mine in and out.

Call Bear at Northstar.

Here's one with the drops:

Was the OP's boat used or special order?

Can you move the seat forward and then lift the rear out of the canoe when at the widest point of the hull? You can also try flexing the hull to gain an inch or two.

This seems to obvious but put the seat back on the bracket and move it towards the middle where the canoe is wider

Yeah there's no easy way to get this out the tumblehome and the gunwales kind of restrict any Flex at the top of the canoe I'll have to call there and ask how the hell they got these in there.

I will try removing the Thwart before I call see if that does the trick
