Ice is gone from Baker Lake. Not sure if it went off today or yesterday. Got a windy, quick paddle in :) Brule was still locked.

Fun pictures to see. Thanks for posting them. Baker was a backup option for us if East Bearskin didn't open by the 18th. Things are looking pretty good on their webcam now though.

Thanks for the pictures.

Not quite the same - except we did see (and hear) a loon! I was out on the Metro lakes yesterday in Minneapolis - not sure what day they went out (Monday?) but it was hot enough that the water felt great. Glorious glass...

I've been watching our metro lakes as well. Time to get going on my canoe refinishing!

Well, I found another hole in the one I paddled, but it held up well enough for the afternoon. Don't wait until it's perfect or you'll never finish - just GO!

I finally got out for the first time yesterday. It was very windy and I didn't stay out for longer than 45 minutes. Still felt good to be on the water.

The water round here doesn't feel like it was ice less than a week ago... it feels like I want to swim!!

According to todays MODIS-- most lakes E of SAG (and including) along the border are iced up.
Also Brule and Greenwood.
