AmarilloJim: "Any talk of implementing a burn ban in the near future? Looks like an extended dry forecast up there."
My educated guess as a wildland firefighter is that there will not be any campfire restrictions/bans until after Memorial Weekend at the earliest.
There is currently a burn ban (Technically burn restrictions) in place for most of Northern MN, but this is for pile burning, burning leaves, as well as any broadcast (Landscape) burning.
To burn piles and such one needs a variance permit form the entity that has fire protection responsibility for that area.
(These burn restrictions normally go off when significant green up accurs )
Burn bans and campfire restrictions are two different things.
Go to the pic on the right and scroll to the bottom in the color coded area. This explains the difference between burn bans and No Campfires allowed.

AmarilloJim: "Nothing wrong with a little educations. Yes I was referring to camp fires."
I knew you were talking about campfires, I just got technical for people in MN to help them use discretion in burning during the non snow months.
I also wanted to provie the link for all to use before they enter the BW, or camp in MN.
(Guess I should have relayed that, good luck camping, when are you going)?
