Be advised, Quetico is currently in a Restricted Fire Zone due to high forest fire danger.

Please do NOT have campfires (even in a fire pit with a grate) or use charcoal BBQs at this time. Please use portable liquid or gas stoves instead when cooking.

Rats! Hope they get some rain next couple of weeks before our June trip. On the other hand, I should be careful what I wish for...

I know the feeling, I live in Itasca county. We are in a no campfire ban here too. I'm thinking this will grow. But greenup is coming fast... And maybe rain. But yeah, it may be a little inconvenient, but should you start a wild fire right now it would be a big deal.

We got spanked pretty good in N Western MN yesterday.
We had three wildfires within 5-6 miles of each other, they were burning good in the hardwoods.
We had the helicopter on ours and the Bull Dozer was still plowing up Ice in the swamps.
I'm tired, was out way past dark last nite, the predicted rain should give us a break.

Were 84 degrees F in Brainerd today at noon. It is very dry here. If we don't get rain within a week we will be seeing more fire restrictions coming.

Gorgeous here on the Ely side of the BWCA, blue skies and I think it got to 75 degrees. A bit of wind. This morning I heard about 10 minutes of light rain, soon after the skies cleared up.

I'm quite envious of the early groups going out! Have even heard that the ticks are not bad, yet.
