Hi All,

We will be spending three weeks in the Ely area, some inside the BWCA, mostly just outside. My so will be going on a canoe trip with the Northern Tier scouts. We intend to fish. Will hire a guide for two days. We are complete newbies coming from Maui. Do the Garmin or other handheld fish finders work? Which is best. My price range is 75 - 150. Don't want to overdo it as we likely won't be back. Thank you very much. Pili

I probably would not mess with one if I was only going to use it for 1 trip.

If it were me I would get a portable before a hand held. 90-100 bucks

I have never heard of Garmin making a handheld fish finder. I think you are getting the terminology wrong. Are you talking about a GPS with the Lake depths on it? Please explain and post a link to what you are talking about.
