I enter 50min North of Grand Marais this coming Wednesday (5/23/18), and am wondering if any of you have already returned from trips in that area.

Were your fishing tactics successful?
Did you use live bait? Jig heads or plain hooks?
If jigging, what color combination, bait style, and size were you using?

I'm assuming I should be focusing on shallower wind blown areas, emerging vegetation, rocky rubble shorelines, shallow humps, and mud flats?

Really hoping for a successful fishing trip as I have a newbie joining me this year.

Got a 26" the other day; only fish caught. the water is cold and they just got done spawning from the looks of things. start shallow.
