How do I find more information about my Mohawk canoe? Like weight capacity? It doesn’t have a sticker with the information. I have googled it but I can’t find it.

Get the hull identification # off the small plate on the canoe then contact Mohawk canoes via their website (mohawkcanoes.com). The 'contact' link is located at bottom of page that uploads. They are in Red Bank, TN.

Without knowing the model, depth, or length of that particular Mohawk, I'd be willing to make a "guesstimate".

My guesstimate is that the canoe in your photos would "easily" carry 2 full sized adults, in excess of 150 lbs of gear, plus a fair sized (60 + lb) child, or dog.
And you'd still have good freeboard.

Will be interested in hearing what Mohawk says, based on the serial number.

I emailed Mohawk the other day. I am hoping to hear back from them soon. I bought the canoe used and deleted the information from the seller on it and I don’t have his number anymore. Not smart on my part lol. But I will let you know what Mohawk says. I measured the canoe and it is 16 2.

I believe you have the Royalex Intrepid model. Nice boat. they 850 lb capacity. That is based on weight to certain freeboard. A capacity statement that I would not use to judge a safe capacity. I would say 600-650 would be a better estimate. Certainly that is still a lot. Don't forget that the weight of the canoe itself is part of the capacity estimate.

Mohawk canoe said it’s a Whitewater 16. Has anyone used one in the BWCA? Any information on this kind of canoe would be greatly appreciated.
