Our group is going to an area of the BWCA we haven't been before. We are outfitting through Sawbill. I'm looking for a breakfast suggestion right before we hit the water. We will be driving up early in the morning, so we thought it would be great to grab some breakfast and stretch our legs around 6am if anywhere is open in Tofte or a little south of there. Any suggestions on places to stop?

Coho Cafe in Tofte. They are open at 7:00 am. Relax!

Judy's in Two Harbors is awesome, they are pretty quick. I've eaten there many times.

Northwood Family Resturant is just off Hwy 51 in Silver Bay. It is just your plain, old, local restaurant with good food and good prices. It's in a strip mall.

+1 Good on way out too. Good people at gas and service across the street also. Had a tire problem and they took good care of us while we ate at restaurant. No price issues either.

Lockport is just up the road in Lutsen. I've done breakfast there before putting in for the day and it was very good. I think they open at 7am which seems to be fairly normal for the area.

Don't forget to grab a donut from the counter when you're paying the bill. They are made fresh and are delicious if you get them early in the morning.

There's nothing like a good ole breakfast sandwhich from the Holiday in Tofte.
Just sayin'.

Nobody in my group would want to sit down for breakfast when you're almost on the water!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Might have to try one the way in and another on the way out. Can’t wait for this weekend!

We used to be in your camp, but for the past few trips we have sat down and had a big breakfast. I have become a convert. Having a big bacon, eggs, toast breakfast is a great way to start a BWCA day.

Agreed. Why spend 30 min to an hour eating when you could have slept that much longer and/or gotten out on the water that much earlier.

I always buy a bottle of iced tea when there too and use the same bottle for the whole trip to mix my brandy water. It's nice to have a bottle with a cap for that.
