My group is contemplating doing a base camp (maybe 2-3 camp sites over a week) trip to Saganaga Lake in early-mid October. I'm curious if anyone can give me some ideas of what to expect around that time. We haven't done that lake before and that'll be a few weeks later in the season than we've been before. I've heard Saganaga gets a lot of motor traffic earlier in the season. Does it calm down more in October? I've also heard it can get very windy out there. Any recommendations of more sheltered camp spots? We're hammock campers so tent pad's spots don't limit us as much.
