We are moving to a rear hitch system for our bikes and Toyota set the crossbar spread on our new Highlander at only 25 inches, so it looks like we will be trailering canoes from now on, too.

All of the parts are available separately, but I would obviously appreciate a grouped order.

The bars and bike racks will need to be picked up near Perham MN, or I can find out what shipping would be. I am also in the Minneapolis area fairly often and meeting there might be workable, too (NW burbs and out as far as Monticello ? preferred).

STILL AVAILABLE 05/27/18:

Yakima Crossbars, round, with end caps, 48 inch - $35.00, set of 2

Yakima Control Towers - $65.00, will ship: +$10
Control Towers description

Yakima Landing Pads #4, set of 4 - $35.00, will ship: +$10
includes sets of 4 of both Railrider Anchor Plates “A” and “C”, to attach to open rail roof tracks for connecting your Control Towers
This setup was used on our 2008 Ford Taurus X and will attach to many popular factory luggage rack tracks:
Landing Pad #4 description

Yakima LockJaw bicycle racks (4), will sell individually - $40.00 ea
Buy in quantity at a discount - 2: $70, 3: $90, all 4: $100
The photo shows these on a longer 78 inch crossbar, but nearly 100% of the time I had all 4 adult bikes on the shorter 48 inch crossbar… notice the markings in china pencil on bar :-)
These have seen faithful service since 1995 so they have faded a bit in the sun, but they work every bit as well as when they were new.

SOLD: Yakima Crossbars, round, with end caps, 78 inch - $50.00, set of 2

Both sets SOLD: Yakima Gunwale Brackets - $30.00, set of 4 (enough for one canoe) will ship: +$10
I have 2 sets of these, enough for 2 canoes. Buy both sets of 4 for $50.00, will ship: +$20
The 48 inch crossbars are long enough for 1 canoe (as shown), the 78 inch crossbars are needed for 2 canoes (seen below).

SOLD: I have an additional set of 4 Control Towers (so I didn’t need to switch between crossbars), sold separately or grouped with other items at a discount:
Yakima Control Towers - $65.00, will ship: +$10

Here's a look at the 2-canoe set-up. Also provides a look at attachment to the factory rail with Landing Pads and Control Towers:

Shoot me an offer on any grouping that I haven’t lumped together and perhaps we can arrange it. Maybe meet over a beer. Or coffee.

I’m interested in the 48 inch crossbars and the gunwale brackets. I’m in the Twin Cities , could definitely meet in the NW burbs. Email me if they’re still available.

You are first in line, Jazzywine. email sent.

Schweady:

I had a similar problem. I took the set up and used different towers, attaching them to an old bunk style boat trailer, and I still use all that stuff.

Thanks for the idea, maybe somebody here wants to buy these and do that. But I already have a canoe trailer for up to 4 boats and recently got a Yakima HoldUp Evo tray-style hitch mount rack for our 4 bikes. Not looking back.

Jazzywine:

I emailed you yesterday but no response. Not in my spam....

I need to know if you are after the 48" bars and just the one set of 4 gunwale brackets (or if you wanted all 8 brackets for a second set of bars you might have available somewhere).

We can for sure meet up with your goods as you are first in line, but I need to know asap as others are lining up via email for bars and/or gunwale brackets.

Actually not as bad as it looks. Sure, if a bar was mounted right above the rear half of a door opening, you'd have a lot more unexpected close calls.

Not a problem, Jazzywine. Thanks for considering, anyway. A buyer is taking all 8 gunwale brackets, and I would imagine that somebody will eventually want the 48" bars.

Radio silence from my email inquirer re: first three items. So, I'll re-post. (Wish I could just edit the above post; I guess time ran out on that.)

5/31/18 - All items below fair game once again, nobody in line:

Yakima Crossbars, round, with end caps, 48 inch - $35.00, set of 2

Yakima Control Towers - $65.00, will ship: +$10

Yakima Landing Pads #4, set of 4 - $35.00, will ship: +$10

I recently fond this online: LockJaw Instruction/Installation Manual

The crossbars and bike racks will cost a bit more to ship, but I will calculate that cost for you, if desired.

Any chance these are for sale here? Looking for a roof rack for my Taurus X. I know this post is from 2018 but I thought I’d give it a shot.

Sorry. I'm embarrassed for neglecting to check back for when I could have possibly made a second edit to my listing. After my first edit, time ran out on editing. Then the forum rules were modified to allow editing long-term... Fixing that now.

Control towers and bars are sold.
All that is left are the Landing Pads #4 and corresponding Anchor Plates, plus the LockJaw bicycle racks.

I might re-list those sometime in the future...
