My group is heading up to Crooked Lake via EP23 (Mudro) on June 2nd. Being that Chainsaw Sisters Saloon is no more, how does parking work in case the paved parking spots are all taken? Is the former Chainsaw ground available to park on?
Just don't want to come back after a week and find that we've been ticketed or towed.
Thanks in advance for the info!

Agreed with those before me. It is a big parking lot with a lot of space. I used it last fall for a week without any issue.
Just in case anyone else stumbles on this post and needs directions to the parking lot, I've included them below. It is a really pretty drive from Ely to EP23.
From County Road 88, you follow the Echo Trail (County Road 116) for 8.4 miles. Just beyond the Fenske Lake Campground, a sign on the right points to 'Mudro Lake and Fenske Lake Resort.' Turn right onto Forest Route 459 (Grassy Lake Road) and follow this gravel road 4.3 miles to a stop sign at a T intersection with Forest Route 457 (which may not be marked). Turn left there and continue on a rougher, narrower gravel road for 1.3 more miles to Picket Creek. Just across the bridge is the USFS parking lot. The portage to Mudro Lake starts alongside Picket Creek just north of the bridge on the east (right) side of the road.

Parked there last September and had no problem finding a spot. It is a popular EP so folks come and go.
Tip: Do NOT put in at the bridge. Portage is very obvious and short. And, the wiser option.

If you haven't been there since the Chain Saw Sisters was there, you won't recognize the EP. I was there in the early 90s and went back last October. Like everyone says, plenty of parking. There's a nice Beaver Dam a short distance from the EP. Stay to the right and you should be able to slide around it without getting out.

Are there pictures of the saloon from way back when? Just curious.

We were inside for a beer at the end of a trip in at Mudro -- August 1996 -- and I kick myself quite often for not taking any pictures. I know there are others who have posted some here.

Blatz: "I had a few there. They sold tee shirts that said "I got Buzzed at the Chainsaw Sisters Saloon" "
Most of the guys got the shirt with the full quote and agreed to all wear them to church the next Sunday. I got the less descriptive hat.

Lightfoot, do you know what year that pic was taken? Apparently the sign moved at some point between our two photos, but the luxurious deck furniture did not...
