Well, I missed out on Fall/Moose EP's, so I won't be able to take a trip to Basswood as I'd hoped this summer. Instead I'm looking at Snowbank Lake toward the end of June. Looking for some feedback:

1.) We fish in a 1963 Alumacraft 14-footer with oars, a 6hp outboard, and a 50lb trolling motor. Pretty standard old boat with bench seating. Do I need to be concerned with hazardous areas or large waves on Snowbank?

2.) I have a campsite in mind based on reading a bunch of reviews, but I'm also open to ideas! Islands are great, swimming and fishing from site are even better.

3.) General fishing tips? Preferred baits or presentations? We're primary walleye guys but will target SMB or Pike when the opportunity is there. Would love to get on some Lake Trout but I have ZERO experience here. We are mostly C&R anglers. We may keep a couple eater walleye or mid-20's pike for a meal but mostly just want to have fun catching fish.

Thanks!

I too will be fishing snowbank after June 16 and before the 4th. I upgraded to a bigger boat as my old alumicraft 14ftr with 15 was a little small. I think you'll be fine just keep an eye on the weather.

My game plan is to drag some smelt deep ,50 fow on my downrigger for lakers and some cranks for eyes...pretty simple..

Thanks yogi! The way I hear people write about the waves on Snowbank make it sound like Lake Superior but I'm thinking I'll be more than ok with 6hp.

I don't have riggers but can try some deep jigging for lakers if you think it's worth it? I also have a leadcore rig that could get pretty deep with the right cranks. Or maybe snap weights? Any time of day to target?

Interesting, thanks for the heads-up. Anything specific to look out for? I do use Navionics but won't rely on it. It seems like a lot of the structure should be easy enough to read in relation to islands.

Find any weeds in snowbank and key on the edges.
