Do a search for Kekekabic Trail on here or on Google. You will find more info than you could hope for. I've hiked the end portions from both the Ely side and the Gunflint side but I have never through hiked it. The middle is part of the blow down area and it was known to be a difficult trail to follow in the middle sections even with a GPS. That is truly a remote trail in the middle section. Are you planning a through hike?
The Kek trail is a fun hike. Get a copy of the trail guide book, it has trail maps and info that you will need. I hiked it west to east in 2004 when recovery from the blowdown of 1999 was just taking off. You can also contact the Kekekabic Trail Club for more info.
