Boot lake is decent.

Gull is nice as well.

Friday Bay/Crooked Lake is better.

Sarge,
As you can see form the responses, there are many very nice lakes as you go either east or west from Fourtown. I have not gone east but have some comments about the lakes to the west. One thing you do not say is whether you just want quiet scenic lakes, fishing or a balance of both.

Boot Lake is an okay lake but a good walleye lake and I think it is a sleeper for large eyes. Not the prettiest on the route though. Fairy is a really cool little lake with a couple nice campsites and decent fishing, including panfish. I would be surprised if both sites are taken very often so if you get one, you could have the lake to yourselves. Gun is a really nice lake and the water is gin clear, we noticed the instant we hit the north end of the portage into Gun. There are some very nice sites too and the fish are there but it may be tough to fish due to the clarity.

Gull Lake is also nice and if you can get the first peninsula site across from the portage you will love it, great site and looks like good shorefishing opportunity. Funny the DNR census does not mention walleyes in Gull but I have talked to and read about many walleyes caught there. Thunder Lake on the other hand, the walleye census numbers are off the chart. I did not know it at the time and didn't even try, hope to go back. Neat, quiet and peaceful lake.

Beartrap has a 5 star site that many seek out - if you get it you will enjoy, if not you will backtrack. Good walleye fishing there as well. I have not been to Moosecamp but have read about both good campsites and good fishing there, and you can also access the Moosecamp River for a different and interesting route back to Fourtown if you are up for it. Could be at least a few beaver dam pullovers.

Depending on how much time you have i would consider the eastern campsite on Fairy for a night or two, a fabulous campsite on a cool lake. Or maybe this awesome site on Gun if you prefer bigger lakes:

Beartrap would be worth checking out and if the site is taken, go back to Thunder and check out those walleye census numbers. If the Moosecamp River sounds like a fun adventure, the night before on Moosecamp Lake makes perfect sense.

Have a great trip.
