I talked to James at MSR who suggested I send in a rainfly from my not particularly old Hubba-Hubba instead of just buying a new one which I was totally prepared to do. They checked it out and have sent me a brand new one at no cost. That's great!

I told him I would put a plug in for their stuff, but it's all good. I am a huge fan of MSR and have bought tons of their stuff.

"Mutha Hubba"..........How many does that hold? I just like saying it ;-)

I dont think I have bought a tent which wasn't an MSR product. I owned the old solo the Zoid which went around Mt Rainier and into canoe country as well. Then I owned a Taj, a Hubba, and a Hubba-Hubba. All have served me well. I much prefer a two man tent on extended solo trips.

The Taj had an unfortunate episode however........I gave it to my best buddy and his Kid with instructions to seam seal it and check for leaks since it had been out of use for an extended period of time. Naturally he neglected my advice and the 1st night out was a torrential all night soaker and the tent leaked like a sieve. Tsk, tsk. He stated in the morning that it was "the longest night of my life"...........I have had a few of those myself ;-)

Whoops, I take that back.........I have a Tarptent which is pretty awesome provided you hike with sticks (not free standing).

Glad to hear MSR stood by their stuff and found you a good solution. I have a bunch of MSR stuff, and am very happy with them.

Another MSR fan here. I own a stove, tent and cook set them. Will be saving up to purchase a Hubba Hubba next year. Buy nice or buy twice!

My wife cross threaded a canister on our Wind Pro 2 stripping the threads on the fitting. When I called to see about getting a new part, they insisted on sending it free of charge including shipping. Great company, but their stuff isn't cheap.

Among a stove, cookset, water pump, snowshoes, and dromedary bags, I have never found disappointment with any MSR product.
