Anyone ever have a Thermarest self-inflating sleeping pad refuse to release its air?

We store my wife’s Thermarest fully extended with the valve open beneath our bed. When we tried rolling it this morning, the remaining air would not be pushed out, making it unrollable. It also won’t accept more air. So the valve seems to be defunct. This makes me think we should try replacing the valve. Thoughts?

I'd be surprised if you could replace the valve easily without sufficiently damaging the pad. But that's pure conjecture on my part, no basis in experience or fact. Does it open and close?

Might try giving the valve a good cleaning... could be it's got some gunk in it or spider webs... or something.

I'd check with the company.

Does the valve turn easily? I would try opening and closing the valve a number of times just in case it was a bit sticky. You apparently can get replacement valves and it looks fairly easy to replace them. Here is a video from their website showing how to do repairs. Replacing a valve is near the end of the video. The video is under the "fix it yourself" tab.
