Is there any reason to bring a leeches or worms for shore fishing if we are primarily fishing for trout? We are looking at sites where the drop off is significant, but I just never thought of using leeches or worms when trout fishing. Should we bring some?

A lot of people use night crawlers for trout.

We’ve done better with #3 Mepps spinners. If you want to bring in bait, use crawlers.

Crawlers are standard for stream trout in lakes, less so for lake trout. Minnows are a more common lake trout bait. Trout nuggets work great for rainbows, too.
