Entered Smye lake on June 2nd, got a little turned around on Smye a big lake with lots of islands. All the portages were in good shape until the last one into Wilkie, spent a couple of hours clearing some blow downs. Camped on Wilkie around the point from the fly in lodge, they must use this campsite as a fish cleaning and shore lunch spot. Spent another hour or so cleaning up there mess and removing a lot of fish remains. The weather did not cooperate very much lots of wind and rain. The fishing was a little slow but I did eat fish every day. Made a trip over to Flindt and found the fishing was better around some swifts. The weather kept me from getting to Gault and making the small loop back to Flindt, looks like I have a good excuse for going back in Sept. All in all a good intro to Wabakimi.
Sure did, and on the way back out there was another one to take care of. While I was on Flindt I had lunch at your favorite campsite, I did steal two sticks from your nice pile of wood for my new Fire Box stove to boil up some soup
