CO Anthony Bermel (Babbitt) worked mainly angling and boating inside and outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. A decent fish bite was observed over the weekend. Several folks were cited for fishing without licenses. Other enforcement action was taken for expired watercraft registration and no PFDs, including one individual out on a nine-day solo BWCA kayak trip. He had no flotation device and already had capsized once.

On Facebook yesterday, the Isanti sheriff posted that a man, his baby and two small children were stranded on a tree in the middle of the Rum river after the tube they were on popped. All children were alive because they were all wearing life jackets. They launched a water rescue team and got them all off the river.
