I will be there for the duration. Not sure about Tammy, that will depend on her work schedule and its too early to tell.
I will bring my grill grate so it'll be available if someone wants to cook over the fire.

Definitely coming.
Thinking about camping this time. (Hanging)
Otherwise will bring MiniMN with as per-usual on Saturday for the Potluck... or maybe camp Friday, run home on Saturday and get her, and come back so she can play with Canoearoo's kids (not that they never see each other), and the Ducklings?
Stay tuned for my final response.

I used to head out of town on my anniversary too. Kinda why I've been single for the past 29 years. Haha.
We'll see, I hope to make it there.

I am planning an being there all weekend. I went to one of the spring wing nights and had a great time!!
I am assuming it is ok to bring our own grills? I have grills, smokers, and a griddle that I could easily bring.
If so, I would probably smoke something for the potluck (ribs, chicken, pulled pork, brisket...), and the griddle could be used for making breakfast(or anything else) for the group, its pretty big.
I know dogs are allowed, but are they welcome? Not sure I would go if i couldn't bring The Grizz.

Hopefully we will have a flock of ducks there again this year at least for part of the day and potluck. It will all depend on soccer schedules so we won't know until closer to the date. Every year the ducklings are bummed that we can't stay and camp because of a game the next day....... maybe this will be the year.
We always have a blast.
It's so much fun to see the usual cast of characters and fun to put some new faces w/ the screen names.
If you have never gone to one because you are unsure what to expect.... "just do it". You won't regret it!

As long as they are not peeing on tents and are watched. There are some great dogs amongst us. We had one pee on a couple tents a few years ago. The owner was offended something was said and we haven't heard from this great guy since. People expect each other to be in control of who we bring... Canine or otherwise. Haha

My daughter (13) will be there with me on Saturday. We may camp out the night before but that will be a last minute call. No idea what we'll make and bring but we will have something to go with the meal -- probably an entree.

Guess I can't miss seeing the folks finishing the challenge. So missing another one...
Been fun seeing the likes of Kendra and BeaV preparing. GrannyL got me sucked in. Haha. It's fun to see people make a challenge out of the waters I've paddled in the most over the years.

I'll keep you posted Hawbakers.
If we don't end up going pswith5, I'll send the compass/whistle with Canoearoo.

Dam! My weekend to work!!!!
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

My wife and I are interested in attending. We have not been to a wing night before and an not sure what to expect. We will bring our seven year old son. I understand there is a potluck, we will bring an entree of some sort. Is there anything else we need to know.
Thanks

Wooo hooooo!!!!
Don't have to help our friends with freezer camp after all - so MiniMN and I are back in for the potluck! Mr.MN will be bow hunting.
I won't be camping Fri-Sat as I have a huge bushel of tomatoes I'll be canning Friday night but we will be there Saturday, and plan to bring cold (ring pasta) tuna salad.
I know some of you (Ducks) were intrigued... so I will bring my CCS rucksack that Dan customized for me for my SHT hiking adventures. It's basically a Rucksack and Wanderer mashed up into one.

Looks like the ducklings (13 and 11) and I will be there Saturday afternoon for the potluck. What we bring will be a surprise as it will include a message. Canoearoo don't spill the beans ;)
I may post a few things for sale with wingnight exchange only.
It looks like there is going to be a bigger crowd of kids than normal.... woohoo. They have so much fun.

Zwater: "Is bringing my 5 year old too young? Just wondering."
I use to bring my kids when they were babies. So any age is fine. Mine are older now so spend a lot of time in the woods building forts. 2 years ago there were coyotes nearby that sent all the kids running back to the campfire. 3 years ago it was hot and all they kids played in the water pump and they all went home soaking wet lol. When Kanoes was there he always would make sure the kids would come home with a prize at the drawing.

I will hopefully see you there for a bit duck. I still plan on coming with my kiddos for a bit. 2,4,and 6. Took the 4, and 6 year old to BWCA two summers ago and the 6 year old this past summer. Will have to leave after you get there though. I have to get up and be on the road by 4am on Sunday so not going to stick around late.
09/20/2018 08:12PM
Thanks for being flexible..... I will get there as quickly as I can. I think 6:00 is the latest I'll get there unless something really goes wrong. If things go really smoothly I may be there by 5:15. I will try to post during the bus ride home from the game with an ETA.
There will be lots of good kids there to play with your little ones.

That wing night potluck was the best ever for the kids! They made a nice fort and tried to get everyone out to see it. The kids all know each other now and look forward to this every year. Thank you to everyone who put it together and thank you for having a kids drawing.. they loved that also.

Thank you very much to the organizers of wingnight and to Adam.
We had a short visit, but as always we had a great time. Lots of kids and they had a lot of fun building their fort.
It was great touching base with some old friends and to meet some new ones.
schuetpa .. I hope you enjoy the Redrock Superpack
Little duckling put together a survival pack when we got home for next year's wingnight. What do those kids have up their sleeves?

Thanks to all of the organizers. It was a lot of fun even though I was missing MiniMN this time. The food was amazing, and it was fun enjoying the campfire longer and spending the night.
Hawbakers - MiniMN is wearing her glow-in-the-dark necklace, and we've already played a game of mini Jenga.
She was jealous that Abee stayed the night, and can't wait to come next year.

Thanks to all. Denise, Carter and I had a great time. It was nice to meet everyone. What a welcoming group of people. The food was good and the conversation was great. It was fun to see the kids play so well together.
Someone left a football that was sent home with us. Let me know who it belongs to and we can make arrangements for it's return.
Thanks to the organizers. I know there is extra work that goes into the planning and set up. I would willing to help in the future anyway I can.
Best regards,
Steve

All I got were pics of the kids because they were so excited and getting Everyone into to woods to check out the fort. There were hamack campers set up in the 'basement' of the barn, I saw oldscouts camper trailer again and several tents set up. There wasn't as many people this year but I think it was because there was something else going on. We had a deer visit the campfire while the kids were in the woods, so that was neat. Tie dye bwca shirts were give away as prizes, they were one of a kind. And someone won a bwca winter hat that looked neat. Kids all got prizes in a seperate drawing and the flash lights were the most saught after prizes for them. Over all while small, it was a great experience for my kids, they have made life long friends. For this I'm super grateful.

Thank you for the prizes and the kids prizes. Have safe travels this fall and winter and have fun planning those trips for next year.
