Heads up to sawbill area the end of this month not sure which direction my group is head either the smoke/burnt area or west to Grace/Phoebe area but i plan to fish for eyes. Should i bring bottom bouncers or walking sinkers my fear with walking sinkers is they will kill me in the rocks vs bottom bouncers maybe keeping me out of them a little better. What are your guys thoughts?

I would suggest you look into a 1/4oz or 3/8oz keel weight sinker. The ones with the bead chain on each end. They don’t get stuck very much in the rocks, and when you do get stuck you just back up and lift them out. I was just in Western Ontario last week fishing in rocky areas and only got snagged in rocks a few times a day. Never lost a weight or spinner rig in 5 days of fishing, just backed up and they came out.

I have some Northland 3/4 Oz bottom bouncers but have not used them too much to comment. I will be bringing a few next trip up there. I think they would work good with a worm that was inflated to keep it out of the rocks.

buy what's cheapest and also not lead. You will lose bottom bouncers regardless if they have the wire footing on them or not. if your planning on lindy rigging just keep that line just out far enough that your not dragging very horizontal that helps with the snags.

I like the Lindy no-snag sinkers. Part old style walking sinker, part bottom bouncer. The price is high but I haven't lost very many.

What's the application? Pulling crawler harnesses?

What I do is use a barrel swivel. One end of barrel I put on main line so it can slide up and down the main line to the barrel swivel that my rig is tied to. Then what ever length of mono (6-8 lb test) you want to the sliding barrel swivel to walking sinker or bottom bouncer. Length is depending how far above the bottom I want my bait This way if I get snagged and can't get out the sinker with 6 lb test line breaks and I don't loose the rest of my rig.
