Hey everyone,

I just got back yesterday from my first ever trip, a 7 day mudro loop through crooked.
We had a little success with the fish but nothing to write home about. I will post a trip report over the weekend if i have the time... Im going camping.

My question is, has anyone had a good fishing guide for a trip? I want to take some family up either this fall or next summer and want to be able to make the bwca a regular part of my life. Learning how to find the fish up there is a must for me.

Paying a guide to help in this regard is something im willing to do, i just want to make sure they will be knowledgeable and friendly.

Any recommendations on guides or outfitters to try? It doesnt matter where, echo trail or gunflint areas, i just want to enjoy the experience. Good knowledge of edible plants, history, geology etc are bonuses. Also good with kids as my 8 year old nephew will be a member of the party

Thanks in advance!

Just got back from Gunflint, a few days ago, 3 days guided fishing. We had good success fishing stream trout in the lakes. Bass fishing was great, but just a few walleyes. I have fished with Cory Christenson, Adam Treeful and Jon Schei, all through the Gunflint Lodge. I know that Cory and Adam can be hired independently. Adam has a facebook page on the internet, but is very busy with other occupations. I would highly recommend them all. We recently fished with Vince Ekroot, fishing some of the smaller Gunflint lakes. It was a great time and very good fishing for mostly smaller fish. He is the most economically priced. You might have to make your reservations in advance. He has a website, Lil Vince fishing guide. I will answer your questions, but not where we fished. Take along night crawlers, if you are fishing around this time.

Dean Bushey @ Bushey Guide Service is the best. This will be my 3rd trip with Dean bringing my son and his cousins ages 10-15. We will have 5 of them on the trip next week.
Excellent guide, cook and great with kids.

I have fished with Steve Foster @ Seagull Creek Fishing Camp, off the Gunflint Trail. He did a wonderful job, polite, professional and he had us on fish.
