So I'm thinking of buying 250 crawlers from Fleet Farm for $39. It's a really good deal when you break it down, I just don't know how to haul that many in, and what to keep them in once we make camp. Any suggestions?

I use a Frabill Crawler Cabin (but I think half a flat is too many worms for even the large one). If you use this, make sure you soak it for at least several hours before loading it up. I also use a layer of moss in the bottom, from my back yard. And I use bedding instead of the dirt they come in.
Just make sure you keep it in the shade while at camp. I also bring a small towel that I keep wet and covering the box.
I've had them last at least 5 days this way.

I've never tried it but I wrote it down when I read it - use instant cold packs, commonly found in first aid kits, to keep them cool.

Out of curiosity, how are they packed when you purchase them?

On the fleet farm website, it shows them in a "breathable" plastic bag.

Also, put in some used coffee grounds. Keeps soil moist and provides food. I mix the used grounds in an old leaf pile in my back woods. Nightcrawlers love it. Easy pickin.
Learned that from my Dad.
