Every year I miss this because I'm fighting fires.
This year is no different, I leave in a couple hours for a fire roll in Wyoming, and will not get back until after Labor Day.
Bummer.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

Sorry you have to miss this LindenTree3. I'd hoped I'd see that you, your wife, and the few other Duluth area paddlers would be at Sir Ben's. Be safe on your fire roll in Wyoming and on the road traveling out and back.

Good luck wrestling your barrel away from Caribou Bear.
"
Made it and enjoyed it! And why wouldn't I or anyone? Sitting outside in Duluth w/ Lady Superior nearby, choo choo train going up the track when Jerry and Lacie played Choo choo trail song, roar of a Harley muffled going by to accompany Jerry's muffler song. Also, good sandwich and great beer and nice folks to sit with: a friend from my book group and her husband (who is from Grand Marais originally), and Kate and Bill Isles.
Thanks, Jerry and Lacie. Wish it had been longer! Guess I'll have to try to make it to Ely Friday night.

After biking 20-some miles along the Paul Bunyan Trail, we caught the first couple of hours of Jerry and Lacie's set at Gull Dam Brewing in Nisswa last night.
Bonus: got to (briefly) meet with bellolake and Mocha. Good times.

We had such a good time when we saw Jerry and Lacie perform back on the 17th at the Voyageur Brew Pub in GM. They were even gracious enough to invite Anna up to sing with them! She joined them for "Head Wind" and later on for "Kevlar is Light", and it was great fun!
Jerry is very good to his fans.

yes, the outdoor venue was great for this show! (except for the flying ants). but good music, friends and meeting Schweady and his wife, and seeing Bellolake and his wife again. listened to his newest CD on the way home today. who is that young girl singing Canoeing with Daddy? quite cute voice.

So. . .those of you who saw Jerry last night--did he actually find his bear barrel on Caribou??
He was all full of plans to do that when we saw him last week! He wanted to make a wager with me that he was actually going to go there and find it after five years! :-)
I have been waiting to hear how that worked out for him.

Rumor has it that it's still MISTER BEAR to him. :)

Finally made it back to Nashville late last night. Thanks so much to all who came out! It was truly an honor to know you trekked over to see us. All the gigs were different and a lot of fun.
Four of us combed the area behind the campsite on Caribou where the bear took my barrel 5 years ago. We spent well over 2 hours and there was no sign of anything, so it is still "Mr Bear" to the bruin that downed my quart of margarita in that barrel.
(@Mocha, that little girl's name is Ava Delgado. Daughter of a friend of mine here in TN. )
Thanks again everyone!
