Saw FB posts that Smitty's on Snowbank has been sold. Don't know details as to when it turned over, buyers, etc... I'll miss those guys!

Maybe the one that was listed in the Items for Sale or Wanted forum?

PS Made me wonder, in this ear of mergers and conglomerates, has that hit the outfitting industry yet? A Gunflint Trail outfitter expanding?

I just find it encouraging that there are folks willing to take it over.
Interest in the great outdoors and continuing traditions is still alive.

Interesting.

I stopped in a few times in the winter. They seemed like wonderful folks. I hope that they find joy in their next steps.

Really nice people. Always very friendly when I stayed there, or dropped by to visit. One time my dog charged in there, went on an energy burst, ran all the way back to the kitchen and back,..they just laughed it off, they love dogs. :)
They'd had it listed for a long time - I want to say maybe close to a decade - sort of, "if the rIght offer comes along, ok". Found an old article somewhere interviewing Ron, where he mentioned he'd move into Ely once they sell. Don't know about Dennis.

Will be interested to know the new owners' plans!
