Mama and I got home at 9-ish this morning from the BWCA and are catching the 7AM tow tomorrow morning out of Voyageur Outfitting. We live close by so that's an advantage.
So 22 hrs is our new personal best. What's yours?

I did a week long solo in Quetico, came back in around noon, drove into Ely, met a couple of friends who were going to go on the next trip with me, shower, ate, drank some beers, repacked, went to Bed and was heading back to Quetico at 7 AM for 8 more days. But that wasn't the quickest turnaround time.......
Another time I was injured in Quetico on the first afternoon and a big storm rolled in and we couldn't try to get out until the next morning. Paddled back to the border and got a hold of our outfitter on Moose lake who came and got us. Then drove directly to the hospital in Ely, they couldn't stitch the gap in my leg because it was past 24 hours and he didn't want to stitch an infection in so it had too be left open. They cleaned up the gap in my lower leg, put a butterfly bandage to hold it closed and then another bandage over that. After getting some beer we headed back into the Boundary Waters ( instead of Quetico, wanted to be closer to the hospital in case I needed help again ). So maybe out of the woods for 2 hours or slightly more :) I call the scar on my leg " My Quetico Tattoo " haha.

Back when I worked at the scout base on Moose Lake it was not unheard of to return from a trip about 2pm and then greet a new crew that same afternoon and pack up and go back out in the morning. So I guess that would be about 18 hours or so as we usually were on the water around 8 or 9am at the latest the next day. These were usually 8-10 day trips.
Normal operations were to see your crew off in the morning the day after coming off the water and then greet your new crew that afternoon. However, during peak season or staff turnover/injury, we had to be flexible. Very few staff minded as most of us liked being out in the woods.

Lundo, my jealousy is causing me to stick my tongue out at you. :)
The best turnaround I had was about 1-1/2 months... one time. Otherwise, it's been about a year.

six hours
We were ejected from Wabakimi due to forest Fires. Our Beaver landed us at Mattice Lake at 11 am. Four hours later we were looking for a permit at Quetico.. Two hours to reorganize and pack and we were on the water at French Lake at five pm.
