Thanks for the report, I enjoyed reading about it. One year I drove from Grand Marais around the north side of Lake Superior on my way home from a BW trip. It was a very scenic drive. Pukaskwa was especially beautiful.

The Steel is a great trip. You guys cruised through the river section. It should be easier next season, I've been told that Pic River First Nation has decided to start maintaining the loop. There is a lot of fantastic paddling in that area, if your willing to work a bit harder on the portages.

Fabulous trip report! It caught my eye because we had been to the Terrace Bay area several times, and actually had stayed at the Red Dog Motel one night. But that trip was nothing we ever could have accomplshed, even in our younger years! Those portages were something else!

Trip report was beautifully done. Thanks. I enjoyed sharing a part of the world that I love to travel through but never would have dreamed of exploring further.

Thanks for the comments. It is a beautiful area with a lot of lakes and runnable rivers. I would recommend paddling here for anyone looking to cover some new ground.

Heading to the Drowning River in the Nakina area next month.
