I don't think it would be something that it would ever need. I expect the material to lose its waterproofness before the seam sealer...
That said, a good seam sealer is half 100% GE silicone (caulk) and half odorless mineral spirits.

+1. Mine performed great in the rain before seam sealing.

One of CCS tarps is over five years old, and if I remember correctly, the other one is at least seven years old. I have had zero problems with either one of them leaking anywhere.
Neither of them have ever had a seam seal " touched up" and they won't get a touch up unless a seam start leaking.

Many tarps don't leak whether they've been sealed or not. My (purchased) 10 x 10 has never been sealed, and has never leaked. I seal the tarps that I make just cause I don't trust my sewing.
