Hi!

I’m trying to meet somebody in the Chicago area who need a canoe partner. I especially want to do the 30 mile loop that goes from downtown, up the north branch of the river to evanston and then down the lake shore back to downtown. Let me know if you’d like to canoe! I own a canoe but not in Chicago. Let me know if you’d be up for meeting! If you’re not adventurous enough to do the 30 mile loop, I’d be up for just paddling the river. I’m 28 and I love biking, beer and canoeing.

Thanks!

Did the Chicagoland Canoe Base close? That would have been a great spot to post a note about what you're trying to do.

Closed. Ralph Frese died in 2012 and no one was found to take over. Tore down last year to build apartment buildings.

Well, compatibility between the bow & stern is pretty important to have an effective crew... Personal interests that align would be a sign of compatibility.

Sounds like a fun adventure.

Yup. I drove by there a couple weeks ago. Bummer.

Being a member of both at one time. I would contact the Illinois Paddling Council over the Prairie State Canoeist for this trip. Careful on the lake.
