I just purchased this unit and am excited to try it this spring. Any thoughts from those that have used it?

I have the 1L and can't say enough good things about it. Extremely easy to use. Never used a better filter in my life. In fact, now I want to buy the 3L to supplement our Platypus gravity for group trips.

I just purchased the BeFree 3L Gravity system from Midwest Mountaineering down in the Twin Cities for my trip this weekend. I have the 1L and have used it while kayaking and it's great! Easy to use, dip in the lake and fast. Hoping the larger volume and gravity will do well in camp. Keeping an eye on freezing temps though.

Get a 0.6L while you're at it. Great for on the move in the canoe.

I love my .6L Be Free for personal water and for when you are on the move. I like the idea of 3L for camp but I love my Platypus 4L bc the water filters while I am doing other camp chores unlike the BF 3 liter where you need to squeeze to filter.

Can you drink from this with one hand, i have one of those hard plastic bottles with the filter built in the cap and i find it nice to be able to drink with one hand while paddling. The videos i see of people drinking from the BeFree appear 2 hands are needed?

I just got back from a hiking trip with the 0.6L and couldn’t be more happy with it. My buddy used a sawyer squeeze which works great too but I think he liked the on-the-go value/compactness of the befree. I’m upgrading my msr gravity filter to the befree 3 gravity system. I’ll save weight and if I have one filter clog on the trip the other can be swapped in.

Have the little one (0.6L) and the 3L. 3L is an awesome gravity system...love it.

The small one is a bit too small and I don't use it much and it takes longer to filter because you are squeezing the entire time. Might be better for someone who drinks directly from it, but I never use it that way...I filter into other bottles.

But the 3L is now a must-bring item for me.

Anyone who can compare the befree 3l to the platypus 4l?
