Leaving trails end campground for the week. Decided to car camp and day trip with wind forecast . Stopped in at Seagull lake blackenburg landing and cook county search and rescue was out on Seagull. 30-40 MPH gusts via weather radio report. Felt like it. Ambulance drivers didn’t give me any details on the operation. Hoping for a happy ending.

At least the water's still warm, so if you are wearing a PFD ( a no-brainer in this wind), you should be fine. A month from now it becomes serious business, PFD or not.

We came out of #47 yesterday. We ran into several people on Wednesday that were heading in early or getting closer to the EP. We made our way closer to the EP as well. We pulled up at Rockwood before 10:00 a.m. on Thursday to get ahead of the predicted wind. Do to an accident closure on I-35 last night we took an alternate route and exited just north of Faribault and came upon the Faribault airport from the west about 3 - 5 minutes after the tornado hit. The first responders were just arriving as we did. Way to close for comfort! There were down trees everywhere, an overturned 18 wheeler, downed power lines, and building pieces strewn everywhere. I hope everyone was okay.
