On the same day we were in the central part of the BW coming down from the Knife Lake area after being windbound 2 days on Vera Lake. Storms kept blowing through. We had to stop overnight on Snowbank as we only made it halfway down the lake before the waves and wind got too dangerous. Our nerves were frazzled but thankfully we stayed warm and intact.

I was off the water by 9-21 but around midnight+ on 9-15/16 we where on Little Vermilion and mustered through a heavy downpour. Several inches of water in the bottom of my boat...no time to bail!
Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot withstand the storm" and the warrior whispers back "I am the storm". Unknown.

Yes, one of our rain tarps ripped apart in the storms that day too! I was woke up by my paddling partner knocking on my tent in the morning saying: "hey, sorry to wake you up, but can you give me a hand? All hell broke loose out here..." :)

Wow! Glad no one was hurt! Our campsite was somewhat sheltered from the wind Friday morning, but we still heard/saw a couple trees drop behind our camp.....We were due to come out Friday and thought we might be stuck for an extra day, but managed to get out after a 4 hour delay.....

Wow JJ,
I was camped on Loon Lake that night, I can't imagine paddling in that storm at night.
May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

Holy crap that will get your heart beating
A friend in the early 80's was in his tent when a huge oak went over. His tent was over turned(with him in it) from the root ball.
