CO Anthony Bermel (Babbitt) worked primarily small-game and waterfowl enforcement during the week. Assistance was provided on a rescue in the BWCA involving a hypothermic solo paddler who had capsized his canoe. Enforcement action included no federal duck stamp, an uncased handgun, an unregistered OHM, litter, and driving after revocation.
Just had to add also about this 99 year old Deer hunter.CO Matt Frericks (Virginia) Also checked on a person sitting in the passenger side of a truck alongside a forested area. When contacted, the gentleman told the COs he was 99 years old (turning 100 in January) and his son was in the woods checking on the ground blind ?they? use. The hunter told the COs he was looking forward to the upcoming deer season. The COs spoke with the hunter for a while and his enthusiasm to hunt deer and just be in the woods was incredible. CO Frericks and COC Goodman assisted in executing a search warrant stemming from an elk investigation from Colorado.
