I like to have a backup stove on my solo trips an tend to take my Jetboil and one of several alcohol stoves. For some reason, I've never tried the Jetboil Pot on an alcohol stove. I use a titanium mug exclusively.

On a whim today, I gave it a try, and took some readings. I used two cups of room temperature water in the Jetboil pot and a Whitebox Stove underneath.

0 minutes - 67 degrees
1 minute - 88 degrees
2 minutes - 121 degrees
3 minutes - 144 degrees
4 minutes - 171 degrees
5 minutes - 191 degrees
6:05 minutes - boiling

The pot seemed nice and stable on the Whitebox Stove. I kept the pot cover on but removed the pot insulation. I wasn't sure if the flames would reach it. Next time I may just slide the insulation up a bit.

So...if you have a Jetboil and an alcohol stove, you may want to give this a try. Seems like a good way to go.

Try different pots on different stoves. You'll find what works better far as size/diameter material used and it can make a noticed difference. I have 1 qt pots of TI AL SS and differing diameters the fastest heating 1qt pot I own is a heat exchanging 5 1/2 inch diameter anodized aluminum. And keeps top spot with alcohol, canister, and liquid fueled pressurized stoves. Next best was an AL anodized 1qt 5 1/2 inch regular pot, followed by SS then the TI.
