My son and I are organized, have a good plan and have been super hopeful over the past week. Long range is bumming us out a bit. For how diverse the weather always is in the park it never ever fails that this particular week is always a 50/50 proposition up until the last few days . Weirdly it seems more fun that way.
Wow, can't believe you do this every year. I and another buddy have a tentative plan to go up that weekend and pretty sure we will be backpacking, but even that is 50/50. I don't like the indecision. I like packing a few days beforehand, not two days beforehand.
My wife and I made the last minute decision to go Oct 12-15th and were glad we went, though 21 and 25 degrees at night was pretty cold. I wouldn't want to be sitting around, which we didn't.
