Rick Allen, based out of Duluth, has a block printing shop in Canal Park. He makes some great prints, and many of them are canoe themed and most are whimsical. He also has a line called the Trappers Daughter which has a hearty following. Some of his prints that are canoe themed are Four Cedars, Winter Sleep, Portage Pause, Song of the Blackfly.

I have 4 or 5, but my favorite two are Trappers Daughter Crosses the Lake and favorite BWCA themed is Coffee Break . I look at this every morning at my breakfast nook. In my mind, this print shows exactly what happens when a bear or little bears get into your camp food. Keep a clean camp!

Any fans out there? What prints do you have?

I’m a fan of Kenspeckle and I keep a bunch of their cards in my desk at work for sending thank yous or for other uses. With email and texting, notecards are sort of “old school”, but they're still very important for sharing. The prints on the front can have special meaning to the sender, the receiver, or both.

Here are the five that I have in my desk. Going clockwise starting at upper right:
"Camp cooking", "On the Trail", "At the Cabin", "Evening Paddle", "Loon"

Yes. Love the cards. I have a couple dozen cards framed in cheap 5x7 frames and move them around the house and office. Inexpensive way to have some good art around.

Also a fan. I buy a stack of the cards about once a year. Always try to have several of the “taking the plunge” (canoe with bride and groom going over a waterfall) wedding card on hand, and that’s the only wedding card we’ve given since finding it.

That moose with the coffee pot will look great in my home made rough cedar frame. Great Christmas present for my moose loving wife.

thanks

I can see where this will be one of the most expensive posts that I have ever clicked on! Amazing stuff. I always wondered where I could find items like this. I didn't know what to search for.
