I'm impressed Pete...Lack of storage space is my dilemma here. I bought a used RV a couple of years ago and that storage are of sorts now. If it wasn't for a check list of what to bring I know I would forget something.

You just need a wall for a nice big map for trip planning and a chair to sit in, have a cup of coffee or a beer, and enjoy your pipe dreams until spring.

rtallent: "Very nice! My storage area looks more like the 'before' picture...."
All three pics are “after” pics. The “before” was simply a corner in the basement. :)

GeoFisher: "Where did you get that AWESOME sign...............I love it, and need one. "
I’ve had the sign for years. My talented artist mother made it after I showed her a similar sign in a catalog. It’s one-of-a-kind and will always be cherished.

Pete, I hate to be critical, but I see that wasted floor space and I see a lake. As you dig, don't forget some reefs where walleyes can stack. You might as well stock it with smallmouth too because if you don't, sooner or later, they'll find their way there. Your neighbors might not like your indoor lake, so sneak out the dirt like Andy Dufresne, i.e. in your britches.
I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.

Unas10: "So, I was looking at that orange backpack for deer hunting. How has it worked out for you?"
Perfectly! Carries my sandwiches, Thermos, etc. and hands are free. All good.

Apologies for a near double post, I submitted one without logging in but want to subscribe to this post so...
Looks Great! It also looks like you can go buy yourself a dozen more fishing reels! ;)
This is VERY similar to what I'm wanting to do in my garage once I free up my corner. I'm planning on incorporating a fold down/hinged table to create a work surface for sorting, cleaning, maintaining and packing gear (and holding a beer). Likely tucked behind where I plan on hanging my packs.
Great work, sir!

Very nice Pete. You have everything stowed nice. Really like the rod storage rack. Maybe a suggestion, store the sleeping bags in a old cotton pillow case.
I just added 125 square feet of shelf storage in my garage too. I stored all my gear in labeled bins up on the shelves.

Forget a map wall. Build a 3D map in the middle of the floor of the entire BWCA. Then cover it in glass, like a Bond villain.
Map wall is pretty dang cool, too. That looks great. I need to put shelves like that in my shed. I currently have all my gear in large plastic tubs, which minimizes the space taken up, but makes it challenging to dig a specific piece of gear out, even if I know what tub it's in.

Zwater: "That looks great! Just get rid of the red and white bobbers:)"
LOL! Those rods belong to my wife’s two boys. Haven’t been used in several years. Thought about popping them off the lines, but figured I’d leave ‘em on.

Rats! I was hoping to get one for my storage area. Lucky!

I think I'm jealous. I'm lucky that I've got a milk crate for the rods in the garage plus a small bifold door closet in the basement that is overflowing. Maybe someday when the kids have flown the coop I'll be able to reclaim some space in the house.
