Watched it this weekend. Not sure if it was the same lake as last year but they said it was about 300 acres. Anyone know what lake it was?

I'm sure we can figure it out. Were they in a motor boat or canoe? Garden is 670 acres, so something half that size on map,... this could be fun.

They were ice fishing. Used trails and ATV'S. to get back in there.
They said they had 4-7inches of ice.

Northern on tip ups and jigging for nice crappie. They did say they were catching a lot of smaller crappie. No walleyes.

12/04/2018 01:26PM
They were catching a good amount of crappie and a few northerns from what I saw.

I thought about low lake . But they had to use a trail to get there. Greenstone but not a crappie population.

Grassy
256 Acre lake that appears to only have carry in access. Decent crappie and pike numbers with no walleye.

They caught some nice pike. I record the show every Saturday morning. I’ve gotten used to the over emoting. The guys catches a ton of nice fish. He certainly has a good group of friends he fishes with. I fished with Jeff Winters who JG does a show with every May to Willow or Flambeau Flowage or a Boulder Junction area lake. He said JG is a fun guy to fish with. The guy seems to enjoy himself. I like the addition of his daughter Blake too. She’s a cutie, always smiling with a fun attitude. Big fan of the show.

There is still a bit of a walk from this access to the lake. Probably half a mile to get to fishable water. I also highly doubt that access road is plowed.

I'm always happy when I get to catch the show. My favorite fishing programs are not the ones where a guy puts on a serious clinic and rarely cracks a smile while hauling in big fish after big fishmehsikomer. It's the ones where they pass on some tips while obviously, thoroughly enjoying themselves. Gillespie is one of those. Great, fun show. I liked Bob Izumi too, for similar reasons, when he had a show.

There's not many lakes in the Ely area that fit the description. I saw a portion of the video and it looks like Bass Lake even though it's not 300 acres. But it is full of Northerns and Crappies. The portage is 270 rds and can accommodate atvs.

little Long is about 300 acres. But never saw a pike there myself.

I’m guessing Stub Lake . Close to Fall Lake campground.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was on of the lake in the Timber-Frear loop.

Even more convinced its grassy with the swampy look to the entry point and the island.
