Walked out yesterday (Waconia), another confidence builder. ;) Four hours fishing, six flags and Brad popped this beauty. CPR, great time with part of the clan. Two new members in the group pic and the ICE NINJA stopped by ;)

A few of my buddies went up to tip-up fish mille lacs. 10-12 up there.

So cool......I really miss ice fishing.

Come to think of it, I really miss fishing in general. No offshore trip last winter, canoe trip was a fiasco and now, even after dropping $650 on a micro power pole for my red neck flats boat, my little 8 day wilderness back country Everglades trip has gone to maybe 4 days and even that might be in jeopardy.

Good job Shock.

most spots 6" but some spots have half that , did see an ATV on the ice , i would wait until next weekend for an ATV. Thanks MT although I didn't catch the fish , it was caught on my rig that I've shared with everyone. and the spot that took me more than a few years to discover. i dont need to catch the fish , happy for anyone who does ,,,, even though that one would be in the freezer at the moment ;)

We'll wait another couple days and I'll check it again on Wednesday, if we can get a solid six to eight al the way out co insistently, l allow people out this weekend with side by sides and four wheelers

I got out last night on Nokomis in south mpls, my first time EVER ice fishing. Didn't catch anything but I was just happy to get out there, drill a few holes and familiarize myself with all this new-to-me gear, and of course get back safely.

I measured about 8" of ice everywhere I drilled. Nice work for my handheld mora. Was actually surprised at how easy it was to pop thru.

Now that we're getting rain and warm temps today, I'm curious to see how this will affect the ice around the twin cities? As I said, I'm totally new to this. Have all the safety gear but not really hoping to put it thru its paces if ya know what I mean.

Shock -- any pointers on Waconia? I live in Mpls and am looking at a few lakes just outside the city, this looks promising.

Nice fish shock. I've been chomping at the bit to get out. Holiday stuff, work and bad ice have kept me from going. Worse yet is I got a new 2 man flip over shanty for Christmas from the wife that I'm dying to use! I've set it up 4 times in the garage and customized it a little with lights and rod holders. I've gone through 4 sets of auger blades trying to drill through the garage floor!

^^^ I feel your pain Cowdoc , i use to have dreams about drilling holes in a grocery stores and saying stuff like , drill a hole by the tomato's that area has been hot, LOL , but we(metro) were very fortunate that we got more rain then snow , it sounds like there having issues up north with a lot of slush , even for sleds.
we'll be driving very soon on Waconia , open for ATV and wheelhouse right now.
